Monday, February 15, 2021: Festivale

Isabelle was wearing a cute ribbon to greet me for Festivale!

I realized I'd never really been looking for one of the Festivale costumes, so I went straight for the Able Sister's to get changed before heading to the plaza for the festival.

Cookie was very excited for the event - of course, she's quite peppy all the time! And I was surprised to find Diana dancing in the little stage I had set up next to the plaza! I made sure to set off the confetti maker as well - I'm happy to have set all this stuff up!

Anyways, Pave was here, spreading dance and joy. My task was to bring feathers, three of a kind. I could also choose to craft rainbow feathers by fusing all the other colors into one.

Oops, I took quite a lot of screenshots there... Well, I started heading around town, catching feathers in my net. It was easy to mistake the snowflakes for feathers just because of the color and the fact I was looking for pretty much anything flying in the sky - like a striped butterfly at one point! (I also noticed Timmy and Tommy were in their festive gear, too!)

Sadly, there are no minigames I can play with the villagers like in City Folk, and nothing to do with candy. However, you can still trade feathers with your villagers, including up to three at once. This is a great way to find a certain color you may need. In this respect, I can see this event working in multiplayer at least, especially if you haven't been getting any of the furniture from the shop already.

My trip around town took me to some of the quieter parts of the island today, like the neighborhood where Avery was having his own party with Clay and Phil. (At least at one point - they all came and joined the party later.)

Once I gave Pave a few feathers, he did a little dance for me. Viva Festivale! I also got a Festivale flag from the exchange, something I didn't have before; so I was able to add it to the plaza.

I then thought to check the recipe I got and looked for a blue feather to make my first rainbow feather. Diana was dancing to the right while I was crafting - I've never had an audience so hyped to watch me craft before!

Pave was thrilled after I handed in the rainbow feather. The camera panned out for their big flourish at the end, although my prize wasn't anything to write home about...

At this point, I was pretty much done with the event, although I handed the rest of the feathers I could - I was getting duplicates of items, so I figured I had gotten everything. What I just realized as I was writing this post is I could have been customizing some of these items with the feathers I got - I will try it out the next chance I get to play!

I was really looking forward to a return of the mini-games here, but I guess it's just about gathering and trading feathers for items. Oh well. I like when the shops sell items for the events, but there have to be more unique items on the actual event to incentivize playing on that day or really trying to get all the items. When I basically have everything already, I don't really care that much in participating. Maybe they can add new series this year for the events or something. I dunno - just my two cents!

Either way, I hope you had a fun Festivale! Not sure when I'll be playing next as I've been quite busy, but I had to at least log in and check out this event. It does have a really fun party atmosphere still, and I love the villagers running around chasing after me to dance in my face or throw confetti. :P
