Sunday, November 22, 2020: Dreaming of Ninten

After I did some of the usual morning things, and changed into my PJs, I went to my bed to try out a random dream. I noticed afterward it still seems quite limited compared to what it was on New Leaf, where Luna will choose a dream globally, rather than letting you search by region.

I only took a couple pictures from my visit to Corgi, but I liked what they had done with this Halloween room. And I remember Kitt from the past games, so here's me meeting her in this game for the first time.

I forgot Nintendo had recently uploaded a dream from the recent update, so I decided to visit. (So many little things added, like how they "patched" time-travelling, so you can visit an event after it happens, but not before - this will certainly help with spoilers!).

Anyways, after remembering Nintendo's New Leaf town, with references to Mario and Luigi's Mansion, I was a bit disappointed to see it seemed to just be a standard Animal Crossing island. Maybe they'll update when the Mario items are added for his 35th Anniversary next year, but for now this is what they have. The apple tree pointed out here reminds me of a place you'd find a Korok seed in Breath of the Wild!

I did like this slot machine - and won three in a row. I think it's from Pocket Camp, since the music playing includes the melody from that game's main theme. I'll have to look into transferring items from the app to the Switch game sometime, since I did play it for a time in winter 2018 while waiting for this game...

I did like this campsite area with the barbecues.

And I also stumbled across a panda ping-pong match - which Sterling seemed to ask me about!

I did like this rugged look of fall on the north end of the island, where they intentionally left weeds, acorns, and the like. A proper Animal Forest! There was also this sign near that area I couldn't read, but gave me vibes of watching travel vlogs of Japan, especially parks in Osaka or Kyoto.

Oh yeah - there was a little music area, with a synthesizer and a black-colored violin. The fiddle reminds me of StringPlayerGamer's black electric violin, even though his doesn't have the ribs. It seems there are so many violins I don't know about in this game! That makes me pretty happy - I can't wait until I get one! :) (The Organized Gamer talking yesterday about slowing the game and life down, which is why she is happy people can't cheat and visit the event early, and why she is patient to collect items, as it increases her time with the game. I completely agree!)

Finally, although the house looked disappointing from the outside, the inside was actually not too bad. I liked the minimalist morning exercise approach, and there was a Ring-Con by the ACNH Nintendo Switch, with the TV showing the weather channel. I suppose there is a Japanese/Nintendo aesthetic to the room, even if it wasn't referencing one of their other IPs like I was hoping. Well, I'm still holding out for a big slew of Mario items next year, and maybe a slew of Zelda items for the year after...? Reminds me of the City Folk DLC, where it was a bunch of Nintendo items.

Anyways - back in town for a little bit, I crafted a bunch of red-leaf piles to put around, just for a bit of fall decoration.

I also bought out the furniture items on display at the store. I got this champion's flag to put outside my house, and splurged on this fancy antique dresser for my main room at home, so I don't have to continually go into my back room to change clothes. I can still hear and see the TV in the main room as well, so it all works out!
