Saturday, April 3, 2021: Harpin' on Harps

I came up with the idea today to do a virtual Easter Egg hunt inside of Animal Crossing! Inspired by Stampy's Lovely World Easter "Choose Your Own Adventure" style videos, I attempted to put one together on my own; that will be up tomorrow on Easter morning, at 8 a.m. (my upload time, I've decided). Here are a couple pictures I had for thumbnails as a bit of a teaser! If you know Stampy's Easter videos at all, you may know the style I tried to go for in Animal Crossing that he did in Minecraft.

Anyways, I also played the game a little today, not just setting this video project in motion! Isabelle was telling me about the cherry-blossom trees - they're so pretty! I didn't have a net on me to catch any petals. I like Isabelle's pink Nook Inc. shirt, too - I was able to find a picture of her for the end of my video, too!

My friend Caitlin (who joined for my anniversary party) send me money to order her a harp for some future Animal Crossing harp covers on her channel! She played in my Animal Crossing Christmas video from the start of this year. She of course plays this game quite a lot, too! My in-game Mom sent me a nice poetic letter about the cherry-blossoms.

Cookie was sad I hadn't spoken to her in a while. Some of my other villagers, like Cesar and Sherb, didn't seem to mind I haven't been playing - their dialogue was pretty normal. The look on Cookie's face, though! :( I guess she moved here 1 year ago!

As I checked the catalog for Caitlin's harp, I did notice the Prom stuff that is available for this month. And for ordering the harp, I received some Nook Miles for sending Nook Inc. my cold cash. I mean... great - they're really profiting from the inflation of musical instruments since the previous Animal Crossing games, aren't they? :)

Here are just a few pictures of the sunset tonight. It was gorgeous, even if it seemed like I caught the tail end of it.

In addition (and I only remembered to include this now writing this post), it seems there's been an update to the Nintendo Switch Online app for Nooklink, where you can tap it on your phone to get Nook Miles, and redeem them for in-game items. These include an in-game Switch carrying case (the ACNH one), Nook Inc. merch (like Tom Nook's poster that I believe was in a trailer for the game or something), and photos of the Nooks and Isabelle! Katrina also appears with some words of wisdom (I think the idea is you do it every day) - Katrina confirmed for a future update to the main game on Switch?!

I'm not sure I will play on Bunny Day, although don't forget to check out my channel for the video!

And since I'm wearing my Mario cap in honor of the great hero... Alright, alright, there go the memes again :) (This is coming right out of the Mario 3D All-Stars/Mario 35 controversy. At least the Mario items in Animal Crossing weren't affected! Those should be permanently in the game now.)
