Wednesday, July 8, 2020: Letters, Numbers, and... Diving

I had an urge to play the game today, and it's been a while since I've just enjoyed it on my Switch by myself! I enjoyed reading these interesting letters from some of my villagers when I started this afternoon. Make a wish, Merengue!

Sherb here wrote a letter about letters. What a genius. :P

I found Gulliver on the beach, and I looked for his five communicator parts in the sand. I kept getting manilla clams, so it took a little while!

Here I was listening to a summer cicada (have I mentioned how much I love cicadas? Both in Animal Crossing and in real life!), and trying to track it down in the apple orchard. I managed to nab it from a blind swing. Lucky!

Of course, as I showed off on a livestream last week, I did a little swimming in the ocean from the summer update. I find it funny how you can use your phone even in the water. And I managed to snag an isopod, one of the more difficult ones to get because of how fast it swims. The trick is to not press A as you go for it, and you'll be able to dive right on top of it. I remember difficult ones in New Leaf as well, so I wonder if this trick worked in that game as well.

I also located Pascal, who I know I've blogged about back in City Folk! He still has his usual "philosophical" rants as always. Sherb was talking about letters, Pascal about numbers... When Stampy found Pascal in his livestream today (part of the reason I wanted to get back into the game), he was saying how it was like a jump scare the way he pops up out of the water. :)

The past times when I've seen Pascal, he's only ever been floating on the surface, eating his scallop. But today, he swam underneath the waves, and I saw his shadow going past the invisible wall we can't go through!
