Wednesday, April 1, 2020: Able's, Flick, & Eggs

Today was another big day in Iyerland! For starters, I checked my mail to find the egg festival underway (which was shown in the Nintendo Switch news anyway...), and C.J.'s koi model. In answer to how I landed it, well, my sister gave me three koi, and... yeah. I didn't do any work. :)

Alright, first stop of the day: Able's! (I put it right next to Nook's shop, just like in the DS game.) And wow, they've upgraded the look of their store! It's still the similar layout I'm familiar with from past games, but now they've got all these fancy new gadgets - just another way New Horizons modernizes the Animal Crossing series for 2020 and beyond! Mabel gave me the tour; I can buy clothes pretty easily through not just suggested items in the front but also the little curtain room. It reminds me of online shopping in real-life with the shopping cart; I did buy myself a new outfit you'll see below. Mannequins return from New Leaf to advertise seasonal clothing. Along the back wall is all the custom designs, and there's even a screen to download other players' custom patterns from online! Sable was as chatty as always at the start - I assume I'll have to keep chatting with her daily and eventually she'll warm up to me and I'll get their backstory I hope!

Whew, that was a lot of text. But it's now time for the second thing: Flick! I assume he's related to Nat, just as C.J. is related to Chip. Similar to C.J., he wants me to give him bugs to sell, and can also make bug models. Also, Kyle moved in as well! He'll be all set up on the island. I'll have to see if Nook has anything else for me to do.

Alright, now for the Bunny Day event - and also check out the cherry blossoms on the trees! I started finding eggs everywhere in the island.

Check out my egg tree; just below it was a money tree we had growing!

I eventually found Zipper T. Bunny down by the beach, who explained the event to me.

The six types of eggs can be found using various tools (note the egg balloon present in the background in that second picture). I have to get the DIY recipes for these Bunny Day items, and then craft all of them for a reward.

I played a little later in the evening because I wanted to see what Nook would say about the next step in Project K. (It IS Project, not Operation - that's what I thought when I was writing that the other day!) Basically, Isabelle is going to collect polls and surveys from residents in the island. Right now we have a 1-star rating - whaaaat? Iyerland is cool! :( We have to get more residents on the island, so I started the process buying more land to build up our second neighborhood.

I like the Legend of Zelda (1986) reference here by Isabelle. Maybe she got it meeting Link in Smash. :)

And here are a couple pictures of some more land I put in the island.

Sherb heard about our plan with Project K and gave me a bench to put down. For now, I put it by the campsite.
