26 Dec - A stricken Halifax bomber on a training mission from Marston Moor, crash landed in a field next to Drub village. The crew had all bailed out with the exception of the 20 year old pilot, who miraculously managed to avoid all the houses. He was injured, but managed to escape the wreckage.
