9 Dec 1875 - Court Case - Joseph Holmes appeared at Court charged with refusing to quit the Talbot, assaulting the landlord, John Clay and a police officer. He was fined a total of 30s and costs or 30 days in default.
30 May 1876 - Newspaper Article - A dog show was held at the Talbot Hotel, house of John Clay. There were 40 entries and it is hoped that the event will be held on an annual basis.
21 Sep 1876 - Court Case - John Clay, landlord of The Talbot, was charged with permitting drunkenness in his house. The Police stated Mr Clay had kept the house since 1861 and spoke highly of him. He was fined £5 but the licence was not endorsed. Two customers who were charged with being drunk on licenced premises were fined 5s each.
