20 Jul 1876 - Court Case - Joseph Crowther, a labourer, was sent to prison for 2 months with hard labour for refusing to quit the Granby Inn and also with being drunk and riotous in the street.
1 Apr 1878 - Death Notice - Mary Swires, aged 24, daughter of Thomas Swires, landlord of the Granby Hotel, Cleckheaton, died from burns she sustained on March 2nd.
9 Jan 1879 - Court Case - John Brook appeared at the West Riding Court charged with refusing to quit the Granby Hotel and also with assaulting the landlord Thomas Swires. Fined 10s and costs for each offence.
18 Aug 1879 - Court Case - Thomas Swires, landlord of the Granby Hotel, was fined 10s under the Weights and Measures Act for having an unjust quart jug.
1 Jul 1880 - Court Case - Having only just received permission to sell, until the next licensing transfer date, the landlord of the Granby, Henry West, was found drunk on the premises by police. He was fined 10s.

4 Dec 1902 - Court Case - Florence Barker, widow of the above Ernest Fawell and now wife of Stanley Barker, landlord of the Granby Hotel, appeared at Hyde court in a domestic related case involving her recently deceased sister.
19 Jan 1905 - Court Case - William Pinder, a labourer from Cleckheaton, was charged with being drunk and refusing to quit the Granby Hotel and damaging a window there. Stanley Barker recorded as the landlord. Fined a total of 7s and ordered to pay the costs of the damage.
