Located in the heart of the village at the top of Webster Lane (now Scholes Lane).

1834 - Pigot's Trade Directory - Walker's Arms, Scholes. Landlady recorded as Mary Broomhead.

25 Jun 1838 - Newspaper Article - The Society of Shepherdesses held their anniversary celebrations at the Walker's Arms. 60 people sat down to tea and they enjoyed a very pleasant evening.

1841 - Trade Directory - Pigot & Co., National & Commercial Directory records John Birkby at the Walker's Arms

6 Jun 1841 - Census entry - Four Lane Ends. Premises not named but evidence suggests it was here.

Aug 1846 - Brewster Sessions - Constable Williamson complained of the Walker's Arms, kept by John Wood, being a house to which the most desperate and disorderly characters resorted. It was proved that a prize fighter had recently been trained there. Licence was suspended.

31 Oct 1850 - To Let - With immediate possession, all that capital inn or public house called The Walker's Arms, situate at Scholes. The house is well accustomed and there are 5 acres of excellent land attached, which the tenant will have the option of taking.

5 Jun 1851 - Licence Transfer - William Hardy of the Walker's Arms to William Bentley.

1857 - Kelly's Post Office Directory lists William Bentley at the Walker's Arms. He is also a wheelwright & joiner.

3 Aug 1859 - Court Case - A lodger at the Walker's Arms was charged with stealing money and "wearing apparel" (clothes) from the landlord George Law.

13 Jun 1861 - Court Case - Josiah Walker of the Walker's Arms was charged under the new Weights & Measures Act with having several mugs and glasses that were deficient in measure and customers were getting 35% less than they should. This was the first case at court under the new law and defendant was fined 5 shillings as an example to other beersellers.

16 Oct 1868 - Court Case - Numerous cases were heard at Bradford under the Weights & Measures Act. Emanuel Squires, innkeeper of Scholes was charged with having a number of gill glasses too small. Fined 6s with 15s costs.

22 Jan 1874 - Court Case - Emanuel Squire, landlord of the Walker's Arms was charged with permitting drunkenness on his premises when a group of young men were involved in a drinking match. Case was not proven and Squire was acquitted.

Aug 1880 - Brewery - Acquired by Richard Whitaker & Sons.

3 Apr 1881 - Census - Walker's Arms, Lane Ends. Landlord recorded as Emmanuel Squire, wife Eliza & grandson. Emmanuel was also a wire manufacturer.

14 Mar 1882 - Inquest - Held at the Walker's Arms, house of Emanuel Squire.

9 Mar 1886 - Inquest - Held at the Walker's Arms, house of Manasseh Hoyle.

5 Apr 1891 - Census - Walker's Arms, Scholes. Manasseh Hoyle and family recorded as landlord.

19 Aug 1897 - Licensing - George Hartley, who has taken the Walker's Arms at Scholes, asked for permission to sell until the next transfer day. He had previously kept the Pack Horse at Southowram and prior to that had been postmaster at Haworth. Granted.

31 Mar 1901 - Census - Walker's Arms, Scholes. Landlord recorded as Joseph Cordingley & family.

27 Jan 1908 - Inquest - Held at Bradford Town Hall surrounding the death of a 16 year old girl employed as a domestic servant at the Walker's Arms, Scholes. Whilst dusting around a fireplace, her clothes caught fire. She was taken to hospital but died 2 weeks later. Verdict: Accidental death.

2 Apr 1911 - Census - Walker's Arms, Scholes. Publican recorded as Samuel Womersley & family. 

14 Aug 1915 - Death Notice - Samuel Womersley, aged 44, of the Walker's Arms, Scholes. Burial at Westfield Chapel.

1920 - Electoral Register - Walker's Arms, Scholes. Occupants recorded as Joseph & Milton Cordingley and Charles Edwin & Millicent Wild.
