23 Aug 1869 - Brewster Sessions - Annual licence renewals were heard at Dewsbury and granted to John Taylor, Rising Sun, Doghouse.
1 Mar 1878 - Court Case - A man named William Kendall entered the Rising Sun Inn, Doghouse, the house of Samuel Hemingway. No-one saw this man leave and a search of the premises was made resulting in him being found hiding inside the chimney! He was charged with being found on enclosed premises for an unlawful purpose and was sent to prison for a month with hard labour.
