24 May 1907 - Plans approved for a new Post Office in Albion Street, Cleckheaton at premises currently occupied by plumbers and blacksmiths shops.
1 Apr 1908 - Post office in Albion Street, Cleckheaton opened.
1908/09 - Figures produced that the new Post Office at Cleckheaton (not including sub-offices) had handled nearly 3 million letters during this period (upwards of 4000 per day). On average there also 120 parcels handled each day, 60 telegrams, 110 postal orders and twelve money orders, not forgetting the sale of stamps and other items that cannot be evaluated.

Deaths
On Wednesday week, aged 67, Mr James Cowburn, of Millbridge, late postmaster, which office he held upwards of 40 years. He was highly respected throughout the locality in which he lived, and is deeply lamented by a wide circle of friends.

SCHOLES
1878 - First Post Office.
15 Sep 1884 - A fire broke out in the well stocked store room at Scholes Post Office. William Drake recorded as the sub-Postmaster. The Cleckheaton fire brigade attended but found no pressure in the water mains. Neighbours helped with buckets and others assisted in removing the stock. About £500 worth of damage was caused.
