Located literally just outside of the back door of the Bull's Head on Lower Lane. No longer a pub but is still there as a residence.

27 Aug 1855 - Brewster Sessions - A new licence was granted to Joseph Newsome of the Rose and Crown, Gomersal.

Sep 1858 - Brewery - Acquired by Bentley's Yorkshire Brewery.

7 Apr 1861 - Census - Rose & Crown Inn, Little Gomersal. Landlord recorded as Mark Greaves & family.

25 Aug 1862 - Licence Transfer - Rose & Crown, Gomersal from Mark Greaves to Henry Walker. (Mark Greaves then takes the Royal Oak, Heckmondwike)

23 Aug 1869 - Brewster Sessions - Annual session for the granting and renewal of licences was held at Dewsbury. It being the first session in which the new Wine and Beer Act was put in force. The licence for William Sewell of the Rose and Crown was granted without any objection.

2 Apr 1871 - Census - Low Lane, Gomersal. Although premises not named, other records suggest it was here. Landlord recorded as Thomas Goodhand.

2 Jun 1874 - Licensing Register - Transfer of licence from Thomas Goodhand to Joseph Brown.

28 May 1875 - Failure - Petition filed for liquidation at Dewsbury County Court by Joseph Brown, innkeeper of the Rose & Crown, Gomersal. Liabilities are about £400 and his assets about £150.

5 Jul 1875 - Licensing Register - Transfer of licence from Joseph Brown to Abraham Abbott.

4 Nov 1878 - Licensing Register - Transfer of licence from Abraham Abbott to John Spencer.

3 Mar 1879 - Licensing Register - Transfer of licence from John Spencer to John Gregory Harrison.

5 Mar 1879 - Newspaper Article - Failure of innkeeper. John Spencer of the Rose & Crown has liabilities of £114 and assets of just £15.

9 Jun 1913 - Licence Renewal - The Compensation Authority decided to refuse the renewal of this licence.
