21 Feb 1867 - Court Case - Thomas Hanson of the Hare and Hounds beer-house, was convicted of refusing to admit the police to his premises. When they finally gained entry, they found the landlord in a drunken state along with several other men and a prostitute hiding around the premises. Fined £5 and costs.

18 May 1871 - To Let - Advert in the local papers stating that the Hare and Hounds beerhouse, Cleckheaton was available to let.

7 Apr 1884 - Court Case. Henry Hackett, a boiler maker from Cleckheaton was charged with being drunk & riotous and assaulting William Cowgill, landlord of the Hare and Hounds. He received 3 months imprisonment.

10 Nov 1893 - County Court Judgment - made against George Carr, innkeeper, Hare and Hounds Inn, Cleckheaton in the amount of £12 11s 6d.

1904 - Electoral Register - Hare and Hounds Inn, Cleckheaton. Occupant recorded as Richard Bartram Rayner.
3 Mar 1910 - Bradford Brewster sessions - Police objected to several Cleckheaton licences. One being that of the Hare & Hounds, tenanted by William Lightowler. The objection was on the grounds of non-necessity. Matter referred to the Compensation Authority.
7 Jun 1910 - Compensation Authority - Licence refused on the grounds that the property was old and not suitable for the purpose. The rooms were small and the sanitary arrangements were poor.
Jul 1910 - Compensation - An award of £630 was made under the Licensing Act for the withdrawal of the licence at the Hare and Hounds.
