Started off as a Wesleyan Chapel and later became part of the United Methodist Free Church. Opening service was on Good Friday (12 Apr) 1811. Opening services were held in the morning by the Rev. Atmore and in the afternoon by the Rev. Marsden.
The last service was in 1879 and the congregation then moved to the newly erected Central Chapel in Cleckheaton.
Baptisms at this location are available from 1837 to 1878. Baptisms from 1837 are recorded in records of the "Cleckheaton Circuit" and although some of these are known to have taken place elsewhere, in the main, many will have taken place here. A separate button for these records has been added. This project is complete.
Burials at this location are very few and are available from 1824 to 1837. This project is complete.
