Yew Tree (New)

Located on the crossroads of the main Huddersfield/Leeds Road and Norristhorpe Lane and no doubt named after the nearby (Old) Yew Tree. No longer a public house.

23 Aug 1869 - Brewster Sessions - Annual session for the granting and renewal of licences was held at Dewsbury. It being the first session in which the new Wine and Beer Act was put in force. The licence for Stephen Musgrave of the New Yew Tree Inn was granted without any objection.

5 Jan 1876 - Licence Transfer - New Yew Tree. From Stephen Musgrave to Wm Dl Millward.

1 May 1876 - Licence Transfer - New Yew Tree. From Wm Dl Millward to John Wm Noble.

1 May 1876 - Plans - Submitted by Messrs. Noble, Pyrah and Royle for the erection of an aerated water manufactory and shed for the New Yew Tree Inn in Lumb Lane were passed by the Liversedge Local Board.
