Broomfield Chapel was part of the United Methodist Free Church movement. It was located right on the border of the Liversedge and Cleckheaton districts. It was the first place of worship for the area of Moor Bottom, with St. Luke's church not appearing until 20 years later, although a temporary "iron" church, a forerunner of St. Luke's, was in existence from 1879.
The foundation stone was laid on 19 January 1867 by Mrs. Henry Shaw.
Baptisms at this location are available from 1867 to 1909. This project is complete.
There are no known records of any marriages or burials taking place here.
