Located on the main Halifax Road, once known as the Wakefield to Halifax Turnpike. This is sadly another pub no longer in existence. It was demolished some years ago to make way for new housing.

23 Aug 1869 - Brewster Sessions - Annual session for the granting and renewal of licences was held at Dewsbury. It being the first session in which the new Wine and Beer Act was put in force. William Binns of the British Oak Inn, who had been convicted in July and fined £1 for permitting drunkenness, had his licence renewed but was told "if he offended again, it would go."
