Located in the heart of the village and was the first place of worship in the area.Â
On the 30th Sep 1839, the foundation stone for this chapel was laid by the Rev. Thomas Padman, Superintendent of the Cleckheaton Circuit. Upwards of 700 people attended, many of whom were treated to a meal in the nearby school rooms.
