Jul 1867 - Brewery - Acquired by Joseph Richard Holmes & Sons.

23 Aug 1869 - Brewster Sessions - Annual session for the granting and renewal of licences was held at Dewsbury. It being the first session in which the new Wine and Beer Act was put in force. The licence for Joseph Wilson of the Cricketers Arms, Cemetery Road was granted without any objection.

14 Feb 1870 - Licence Transfer - Cricketer's Arms, Cemetery Road. From Joseph Wilson to Richard Kaye.

2 Apr 1871 - Census - Cricketer's Arms, Cemetery Road. Innkeeper recorded as George N Crowther & family. He was also a wheelwright.

1 May 1873 - Licence Transfer - Cemetery Road (premises not named). From Eliza Crowther to Charles Foster.

5 Jan 1874 - Licence Transfer - Cemetery Road (premises not named). From Charles Foster to Arthur Sugden.

7 May 1877 - Licence Transfer - Cricketer's Arms, Cemetery Road. From Arthur Sugden to James Archbell, who had previously been a local Police Sergeant.

7 Mar 1881 - Licence Transfer - Cricketer's Hotel. From James Archbell to Walter Bentley.

3 Apr 1881 - Census - Cemetery Road. Premises not named but evidence suggests it was here. Innkeeper is Walter Bentley & family. Walter's brother Hodgson Bentley was landlord of the Sir Robert Peel.

30 Apr 1884 - Bankruptcy - Henry Moon of the Cricketer's Arms filed for bankruptcy at Dewsbury court. He took the premises in Sep 1882.

5 May 1884 - Licence Transfer - Cricketer's Hotel. From Henry Moon to William Helme.

5 Apr 1891 - Census - Cricketer's Hotel, Cemetery Road. Innkeeper is Joseph Pearson & his wife.
