12 Nov 1853 - Death Notice - William Boden, aged 46, of the Peacock Inn, New Road, Gomersal, died 5 Nov 1853.
14 Jan 1856 - Court Case - Edward Boden (son of the above Thomas) of the Peacock Inn at Gomersal was charged with allowing drinking in his house on the Sunday afternoon of 6 Jan. Fined £1 with costs.
1857 - Kelly's Post Office Directory lists Edward Boden of the Peacock Inn.
17 Dec 1857 - Court Case - Edward Boden was charged with harbouring a policeman in his public house on 11 Dec. A sergeant visited the premises and found a policeman in a state of intoxication and who should have been on duty at the time. He was fined £10 with costs.
1 Jul 1858 - Court Case - Edward Boden was charged with having company in house at 9am on Sunday last. It was intimated that he would lose his licence at the next licensing day as this was his third offence since the last brewster sessions. He was fined 40s with costs.
7 Apr 1861 - Census - New Road Side, Birkenshaw. Although premises not named other records suggest it was here. Landlady recorded as the widow Lydia Boden and family.
23 Aug 1869 - Brewster Sessions - Annual session for the granting and renewal of licences was held at Dewsbury. It being the first session in which the new Wine and Beer Act was put in force. The licence for Thomas Archer of the Peacock Inn was granted without any objection.
2 Jan 1871 - Licence Transfer - The Peacock Inn, Gomersal. From Thomas Archer to John Parker. At the same time, the licence for the Shoulder of Mutton was transferred from Henry Smith to the said Thomas Archer.
