Golden Lion

At present it is only known that this public house was located in the Hightown area.

27 Nov 1866 - Court Case - John Ogden, a joiner and landlord of the Golden Lion, Hightown was charged with stealing a half sovereign from a pub in Deighton. Committed for trial on bail.

20 Sep 1886 - Newspaper Article - A wedding takes place at Christ Church, Liversedge. The elderly couple hold a dinner party at the Black Bull, Millbridge, house of John Ogden, who recalls that 21 years earlier he served dinner to the groom and his first wife at the Golden Lion, Hightown.
