The 1901 census was taken on the night of 31 March 1901. We still see relationships, ages (although don't always believe them as plenty of white lies were told!), the condition of the person in question (Married, single, widow etc.), their place of birth and a further column to identify if the subject was either blind or deaf and dumb. In addition, and very politically incorrect, it also recorded whether the individual was a lunatic, imbecile or feeble minded. A new addition to this census was a column to record the employment status of each worker. They are either an Employer, Worker or Own Account. Each household was also given what is called a "schedule number" which is just a consecutive number given by the Enumerator and should not be confused with any house numbers in the address.
