The Cleckheaton District Local History Group (CDLH) was constituted in late 2023 and some of it's aims are:
To research, record and share the local history of Cleckheaton district.
To help protect, conserve and save our local history.
To raise awareness and education of our local history to all age groups.
To work with other entities to enable the protection and promotion of our local history.
To raise funds in order to carry out the above.
The group will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 2pm to 3.30pm. The venue is in Cleckheaton at the Central Chapel Methodist Church, adjacent to the Memorial Park and a very short distance from the bus station. No booking is required and there is a request for a small donation of £1 to cover costs of refreshments which will be available. There is a small car park adjacent to the premises on Mortimer Street, but if you are fully able, please give priority to those who are not. The post code is BD19 5AR if needed.
