On the 25th April 1860, the Bishop of Ripon, consecrated the new Cemetery at Heckmondwike. The first interments would take place just a couple of weeks later.
Burial records at this location are split into Unconsecrated and Consecrated and both start in May 1860. The Unconsecrated register covers up to 1911 and the Consecrated register is available up to 1930. There are above 10,000 burials recorded for both sections and these will be added to the site in due course.
