1878 - 1885: Alfred WINNIFRITH
Born in Kent in 1842. He was appointed the first incumbent of the newly formed Parish of St. Luke in 1878. He had previously been a curate at St. John in Cleckheaton. Left in 1885 and died in 1923.
1885 - 1901: Edward William EASTON
Born 1853 in Beverley. Inducted as Minister of the District of St. Luke in 1885 by the Bishop of Ripon. In 1891 he was offered a post in Gloucestershire but much to the relief of his parishioners he declined to accept the position. Left in 1901 to become vicar of Warley, Halifax. Died in 1928.
1902 - 1909: William HIGGINSON
Born 1865 in Bolton, Lancashire. Inducted on 1 Feb 1902. Was formerly a curate at St. Mary, Gomersal. Resigned his post in 1909 stating the local parishioners had refused to work with him.
1909 - 1916: William Sherwen SHERWEN
Born 1872 in Cumberland. Accepted post in 1909 after serving many years at Holy Trinity, Huddersfield. Left in late 1916 for Thwaites in Cumberland. Both he and his wife had been very popular with the local Parishioners and they were presented with gold watches and purses of money on their departure.
1916 - 1919: John Thomas TARPLEE
Born 1874 in Birmingham. Took up office in 1916. Had previously been curate at Rishworth.
1919 - 1928: Frank Reginald James EASTON
Born 1883 in Nottingham. He was no relation to the earlier vicar. Inducted on the 18th October 1919 by the Bishop of Wakefield. Leaves in 1928 to take rectorship of Stoke Prior and Docklow in Herefordshire. Died 7 Jul 1942 in Hertfordshire.
1928 - 1931: Alexander MORRIS
Born 1894 in Perthshire, Scotland. Was ordained in 1922. Appointed to St. Luke in 1928 and was previously organising secretary for the National Society (Church Education) in the Northern District. Left in 1931 to become curate at St. Paul in Durban, South Africa but had to return two years later due to family ill-health. In 1933 he became vicar of St. Paul at Buttershaw and later moved to Huntingdon.
1931 - 1937: Thomas Horatio WHITEHOUSE
Born 1887 in the West Bromwich area. Ordained in 1923. Inducted 28 Jun 1931 after serving at Stainborough and Penistone. Left St. Luke in 1937 to become vicar of St. John, Warley, Halifax. Died 1967 at Wakefield.
1937 - ????: John Arthur SIMPSON
Born 1902 in Blyth, Northumberland. Inducted on the 1st of June 1937. Died 1969 in Northumberland.
