WINDHAM MALL
Address: 795 Roosevelt Trail
City: North Windham, ME
Opening date: 1980
This small shopping mall opened in 1980 and was anchored by Bradlees and Shop'n save supermarket. The interior mall was rather small and contained about a dozen stores.
The 60,000 sq.ft. Bradlees closed around 1996. Big Lots and a Cinema opened in the divided former Bradlees store. Shop’n save has been renovated and renamed Hannaford like the majority of Shop'n save stores in Maine. Pizza Hut, Burger King and Friendly's are located in on pad sites front of the Mall.
Fashion Bug moved out to the Shaw's plaza across the street around 2011. A Home Depot opened at the back left corner of the property behind Hannaford. The store almost as large as the mall itself. A large chunk of the mall and vacant spaces vanished when Marshalls opened to the left of Big Lots.
In January 2014, Big Lots closed and the Cinema expanded in part of the 43,000 sf. space. Reny's opened in April 2016 in 26,300 sf. of the former Big Lots. Friendly's closed several Maine locations over the years including the Windham location. The restaurant has been replaced by Portland Pie Co.
