BANGOR PARKADE
Address: Stillwater Avenue
City: Bangor, ME
Opening Date: 2005
The 234,000 sq.-ft. Bangor Parkade opened during fall 2005. It's located directly across Stillwater Avenue from the new Interstate 95 interchange close to the Bangor Mall.
The center is featuring more than ten stores. The 88,904-square-foot anchor store is Kohl's. Texas Roadhouse is the first restaurant of that chain in Maine. The center has two buildings: The smaller one originally featured Office Max, I-Party, Linens'n Things, Famous Footwear and GameStop. The other one had an A.C.Moore, Old Navy and Kohl's.
In November 2005, a small store was being built near the parking lot entrance. In May 2008, Linens'n Things announced it would close 120 stores including the Bangor location. In Dec. 2008, Office Depot announced the closing of the Bangor store. Big Lots eventually opened at the Parkade.
In June 2012, Petsmart and Ulta Beauty were under construction in the former Office Depot space and both opened in September of that year. Big Lots closed in January 2015. The store was replaced by Bed, Bath & Beyond (which moved out of its existing location next to the former Toys 'R' us closer to the Bangor Mall).
