MERRIMACK 360/SHAW'S PLAZA

This plaza was a typical grocery store-anchored shopping center for years until Shaw’s closed its doors to relocate to a brand new store constructed nearby.

Shaw’s closed in 2006 leaving a large vacant space at the plaza.  Shaw’s still had a lease but did not renew it in 2011. The lease expired in April 2012. This allowed the owners of the plaza to start redeveloping this area and the whole plaza.

The closing of Shaw’s greatly reduced traffic at the plaza so smaller stores closed and moved away one by one. CVS moved down the road to a new building for example. Silver Maple restaurant closed in 2011. For a couple years, nothing happened and the plaza was sitting almost empty.

In a November 2016 article, some plans were proposed to renovate the plaza and add new buildings. The plaza was eventually renovated and started to welcome new stores and businesses like Dollar General.
