LILAC MALL

Lilac mall opened in 1979. As of April 2018, it is anchored by Kmart and JCPenney. There’s a free-standing Hannaford supermarket on the property. The property includes the mall itself, Hannaford and a third building.  House of Fabrics closed in the mid 1990’s.

The mall is relatively small and is usually is pretty quiet as people don't spend whole afternoons in smaller malls like this. In September 2008, the front part of the mall was under renovation. They added a new exterior entrance for a new Dollar Tree. As shown below, the mall entrance was shared with Kmart and had the typical Kmart style of the late 70's. You had to use that entrance to reach Kmart's only entrance inside the mall.

As of 2012, the entire exterior facade of the building is redone and the mall has a new pylon sign. Early in January 2018, it was announced that Kmart would close by April.
