Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of information about Giant. Giant opened a new store in Dover NH in August 1964. The chain closed years ago apparently in 1973. King's Department stores acquired a 425,000 sq.ft warehouse from Giant located at 9 Stuart Road in Chelmsford MA. In August 1973, the bankruptcy proceedings were underway and Giant announced the sale of 3 Maine stores to King's (Biddeford, Sanford, South Portland). Following this sale, Giant was left with one store still operating in Brunswick. A location in North Windham had closed on August 11. If you have more information, contact us today, thank you.
