This shopping center opened in 1961. It was then anchored by W.T.Grant (Grant City). K-mart later opened a store at the plaza. The Kmart auto center closed its doors and is currently used as seasonal department/garden center. The store was eventually «repainted» as a Big Kmart and only the colors and logo are new. The store still looks old inside with low ceiling, exposed water pipes and HVAC ducts, and it is quite small. Pizza Hut, Wendy's, VIP Auto center and other business are located around the plaza, which is located close to Augusta's downtown.

All-For-A-Dollar closed years ago. In 2007, Fashion Bug announced it would leave the plaza and open a new store at the Turnpike Mall near Olympia Sports.

The small Kmart store is hanging on and remains open in 2018 despite the several rounds of closures announced by Sears Holdings in the past decade. Larger Kmart stores in Presque Isle and Bangor were closed before Augusta's. Below is a picture showing a sealed off entrance possibly to the former Kmart cafeteria.

In 2018, the leasing agents of the plaza announced a gradual re-positioning the property for more service-oriented users. As of September 2018, the only anchor store of the plaza, Kmart is holding on despite multiple rounds of closures by its parent company. In August 2019. it was finally announced that the Augusta Kmart would close by December in a massive round of closures that included 80 Kmart stores. The stores closed its doors forever in mid-December.
