DOVER CROSSING

This plaza is the largest shopping center in Dover. The shopping used to be known as the Dover Plaza and was originally anchored by Service Merchandise and Shaw's supermarket. Shaw's opened in 1984 and was joined by a couple of smaller stores located between it and Service Merchandise.

NHD closed in October 1998. Rocky's Ace Hardware replaced NHD Hardware in August 1999. Service Merchandise (shown above) eventually closed. Poore Simon's closed its doors in 2000 and was replaced by Olympia sports in Fall 2000. Shaw's was expanded in 1999 by taking over a vacant section of the plaza next to it. Osco Drug was acquired by Brooks in 2002.

Dover Plaza in 2007

Bed, Bath & Beyond opened at the plaza. Brooks was eventually acquired by Rite Aid. Petco Opened in 2010 in part of the former Service Merchandise. Olympia Sports eventually relocated to the Tri-City Plaza. In April 2023, Bed Bath & Beyond announced it filed for bankruptcy so the Dover store will close sometime in 2023.
