EXETER COMMONS
Portsmouth Avenue, Exeter NH
Exeter Commons used to be the Globe Shopping Plaza. The plaza was named after it’s main anchor store, Globe, a New England-based discount chain. The company closed in 1992 but the name remained for the plaza. The former Globe store re-opened as Price Mart. The store was very similar to Globe and even reused the Globe shopping carts. Price Mart only re-used 14,000 sq.ft. of the former 30,000 that Globe had. The rest is now home to Furniture Option. PriceMart closed in January 2005. The Shopping went through a massive renovation and has been renamed Exeter Commons between 2008-2009. Rite Aid opened a brand new free-standing store on the right side of the shopping center.
