WEST GATE PLAZA (Marketplace)

West Gate Plaza was built in 1966 and was then anchored by W.T.Grant. K-mart opened in October 1976 and was 64,000 square feet. The plaza also has Marshalls, Market Basket, Payless ShoeSource, and a part of the plaza has a Sherwin-Williams, movie store and others. The 9,400 square foot CVS (next door to K-mart) eventually moved to a larger free-standing location across the street. K-mart closed in Spring 2003.  Link to a website showing the sign of the plaza in 1978. In 2010, Market Basket announced it could relocate their store to the former Kmart. Market Basket is now open in a new larger store and Burlington Coat Factory opened in the former supermarket's space.
