Originally opened in 1968 as Hood Plaza, this 209,138-square-foot center was anchored by Giant and Shaw’s. The retail lineup shifted significantly over the decades: Ames Department store replaced Giant in 1974, while Shaw’s moved to a larger footprint in 1988 before eventually expanding into a former Rite Aid in 2000 to reach its current 67,221-square-foot size.

The property underwent a major renovation in the late '80s and saw a wave of tenant changes in the late '90s and early 2000s, including the arrival of Big Lots and the closure of Fayva, Jo-Ann Fabrics, and Ames. Today, the former Ames footprint is occupied by Tractor Supply and Planet Fitness. Following its acquisition by WP Realty in 2006, the center continued to evolve, notably losing long-time tenant Fashion Bug during its national chain closure in 2012.
