Seacoast Shopping Center was the most recent plaza in Seabrook until the opening of Lowe’s and Kohl’s in 2008-2009. The L-shaped plaza was built in 1991. It was originally anchored by a 139,000 sq.ft. Walmart and a Shaw’s supermarket. This Walmart was not a supercenter and featured a red-lettered logo. A big boost to the area near the Seacoast Shopping Center was the opening of Home Depot just south of it.

In 2012, rumors surfaced about Walmart leaving the center to open a larger store up the road at the site of a future shopping center behind McDonald's. Originally Target was planned and approved for that site but the rest of the center was then struggling to be approved for construction.

In 2013, is has been confirmed that Walmart would move out of the Seacoast shopping center and reopen as a Supercenter in the new center. In July 2013, Shaw's announced the closing of 6 locations in NH including the Seabrook store. These two departures have left the Seacoast Shopping Center without anchor stores.

In 2016, rumors mentioned the possible coming of Ocean State Job Lot in the former Walmart space. Ocean State Job Lot has opened in former Walmart stores before: (Derry and Hooksett NH as well as Sanford and Rockland ME). Olympia Sports relocated to the nearby Southgate Plaza. OSJL was eventually confirmed and opened in March 2017. A go-kart track eventually opened inside the former Shaw's.

In April 2017, Payless Shoesource filed for banrkuptcy and closed 400 stores including that Seabrook store. Cardi's Furniture opened in the other half of the former Walmart.
