The Globe Shopping Mall is named after the department store that used to be its anchor. Globe also had a store in Stratham NH and there too, the Globe logo has been used as the shopping center name.  The Airport plaza in Gilford NH had the same Globe logo until it was removed recently. Globe went out of business in the early 90's, probably 1992. The stores that have replaced Globe are Rentway and Family Dollar. The plaza now has many small stores without a major anchor store. The plaza eventually changed name to Spaulding Commons and the facade of the center was renovated in 2013.
