TOPSHAM FAIR MALL

Topsham Fair Mall opened in 1985 with Bradlees as main anchor store. The mall also had a Shop'n save supermarket. Fashion Bug closed there in the mid 1990s. Candle Mill replaced Bradlees in late June 1998.

Village Candle opened inside the former Bradlees space and expanded and renovated the front part of the building. The back wall of the former Bradlees can bee seen when you drive northbound on Interstate 95. Woodworkers warehouse closed its store when the company went bankrupt.

As pictured above, Village Candle used most of the former Bradlees for candle making, the rest for the retail store. The ceiling tiles, slat-wall on columns and lighting was original to Bradlees and could be seen by looking at a window showing the manufacturing of candles in the candle store. Jo-Ann Fabrics opened a store at the Mall after leaving the former Ames plaza in Brunswick which had become a Lowe’s. There are projects in the air to expand the mall to the south and connect it with newly-built retail buildings in that area.

As you see below, the Topsham Fair Mall sign is featuring many stores not directly at the mall itself. Most of Topsham's retail is under the Topsham Fair Mall umbrella.

In 2011, Village Candle moved out and Reny's opened a store in roughly a third of the former candle store.
