The Townline Plaza used to be the #1 retail place in the Tilton/Franklin area. With all the new retail development near Exit 20 including Walmart, Bj’s, Staples, Kohl’s and Home Depot, the plaza lost it’s spot. 

Townline Plaza used to be anchored by a small Ames store, A&P supermarket and a Ben Franklin store.  At one point, the supermarket closed and Rite Aid opened.  The pharmacy relocated to a freen-standing location in the mid 90’s.  In 2001, Ames decided to close 54 stores including the Tilton location. The store sat vacant for several months until it was replaced by Dollar Tree. Ben Franklin eventually closed. Mr Gs liquidation store opened where Ben Franklin used to be.
