STATELINE PLAZA

Stateline Plaza was built in 1973. Back then, it was anchored by a 47,000 sq.-ft. Purity Supreme and Marshalls. The plaza did not change much over the years. It was in a perfect location right on the state line of tax-free New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Purity Supreme closed in the summer of 1996. Staples subleased 27,000 square feet of Purity in the Fall of 1996. Party Experience opened in the 20,000 sq.-ft. remaining part of Purity, and closed in 1998. Namco replaced Party Experience in 2000. Sears appliances opened in 2001. CVS relocated up the road in 2004.

Marshalls relocated its store to the Salem Plaza in the former Ames in 2003. The two vacant spaces had a total of 40,150 sq.-ft. They probably once were only one store according to the floor plan. Sears and Sunshine Cleaners have eventually moved out. For a while, only Staples and Namco were still at the plaza.

Most of the shopping center was eventually demolished to make way for a brand new Lowe’s. Namco stayed at the plaza in a new spot but Staples moved out. ALDI food market opened a store in March 2012.
