AMES/P&C PLAZA

  • Address: Cornelia Street

  • City: Plattsburgh NY

  • Opening date: unknown

This shopping center does not exist anymore. It originally was anchored by Ames and P&C Foods. Ames closed in 2002 when the chain went out of business. Eventually P&C and other businesses left the plaza too. P&C may have closed in 2007-2008. The building was demolished in 2011 and today only a concrete slab outlines the shape of the forme plaza (pictured below). Texas Roadhouse opened in the front area of the property by Cornelia Street in XXXX. In 2011, Kohl's considered building a new store at the former plaza site. It even got initial approval from the town planning board. That project never went through and Kohl's eventually opened a store in October 2019 at Champlain Centre Mall.

As you can see above, the plaza housed at least three stores between Ames and P&C.
