Cooks Corner opened in 1966. Sears, Service Merchandise and Shaw's were located at the mall. A 1975 store listing of the Grant City chain mentioned a location at Cooks Corner. In May 1986, Stuart's department store opened at the mall. The store quickly closed when Stuart's announced that its lease was terminated on November 17 1988. The store closed in January 1989. Porteous opened in 1989. Service merchandise and Shaw's relocated to the nearby Merrymeeting plaza in 1993. The former Shaw's was replaced by Staples and Bookland and Tjmaxx replaced Service Merchandise in 1994. Toyworks opened in November 1996. Porteous closed in June 2001. The store has been replaced by Big Lots. Toy works closed its doors in 2009 after the bankruptcy of the parent company KB Toys.
In 2014, Lamey-Wellehan shoe relocated to Topsham Fair Mall. In January 2019., Hannaford announced the future opening of a new 50,000 supermarket at the mall in the former Bookland space. Kim's Hallmark will relocate to Topsham Fair Mall in March 2019. In February 2020, it was announced that Sears would close leaving the Maine Mall Sears as the only one in the state.
