Societies should be no larger than villages.

Then there is no need for an abundance of inventions.

People who understand mortality stop running to and fro;

even with abundance of transports, there is no need for them.

And if they have armaments, there is no occation to display them.

Let life be simple enough for:

remembering things by knotting a string,

making good meals and beautiful clothing,

enjoying the peacefulness of home,

and finding joy in everyday.

Villages close enough to hear each other's dogs and roosters,

could live entire lives without feeling compelled to travel back and forth.
