Tutorial done in PSPX2.

with everything open and ready to go, let's get started.

resize the canvas at 750px by 650px.

delete or hide the copyright info layer.

now merge following layers together (merge down one layer only).

square6 and square5

square4 and square3

square2 and square1

delete the following layer:

frame back (the pink layer with 2 squares, NOT the black square in the center).

now add a new raster layer above the background layer.

select all.

open paper16 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

select none.

now apply mask 83 at default settings.

right click on the mask layer to merge the mask group.

now repeat the step with paper14 and mask78.

now add a new raster above the square1 layer.

on the square1 merge layer, select all/float/defloat.

open paper13 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

select none and hide the square1 template layer.

repeat the steps with the following papers and layers:

paper16 and square3

paper10 and square5

paper16 and frames

paper13 and frame

now open up the close up tube.

copy and paste as a new layer on the top of the working canvas.

use my tag for placement reference.

now unhide the square3 template layer and select all/float/defloat/invert selection.

hit delete on the tube layer.

use your eraser tool to delete any excess tube that is visible on the opposite square.

now paste the close up tube as a new layer again, this time mirror the tube.

place it on the square and repeat the selection and delete steps in the last step we did.

LOL I hope Im not losing you in my choice of words. :P

anywho, let's continue.

now you have the two tubes, merge them into one layer.

change the blend mode to Hard Light.

now below the tubes, duplicate the square3/paper16 layer and pull it above the tubes layer.

apply a cutout with the following settings:

V - 0 

H - 0

Opacity - 100%

Blur - 70

shadow color - #000000

fill interior - unchecked

now change the blend mode of the cutout to multiply.

now for the frame back/paper03 layer, duplicate and apply cutout with the same settings.

do not change the blend mode.

now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.

don't forget to add artist credit and license info.

when you're all done, copy special > copy merged. 

paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag. 

invert selection and crop to selection. 

that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
