with everything all set to go, let's get started.
open a new image with a transparent background at 750px by 650px.
add a new raster layer and select all.
open paper14 from the kit and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer and select none.
apply the mask at default settings.
right click on the mask layer to merge the mask group.
resize the mask by 80%.
duplicate the mask.
on the bottom mask copy, apply gaussian blur by 5.
merge the mask layers together to one layer.
now open the openscreen element from the kit and resize by 60%.
copy and paste (C/P) as a new layer above the mask layer.
use your magic wand tool to select the area outside the openscreen element.
expand selection by 2.
invert selection.
add a new raster layer below the openscreen element layer.
open paper15 from the kit and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer.
select none.
open the cityscape element from the kit and resize by 40%.
C/P as a new layer above the paper15 layer, below the openscreen layer.
open the pearlrain element from the kit.
C/P at 100% as a new layer above the openscreen layer.
flip the pearlrain element.
use your eraser tool to delete the 2 excess portions that stick out of the left and
right of the openscreen.
now open the tube and resize if you need to.
C/P it as a new layer above the pearlrain element layer.
now open the stairs element and resize by 50%.
C/P it as a new layer above the tube layer.
position it to the left of the openscreen.
use my tag for placement reference.
now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.
don't forget to add artist credit and license info.
when you're all done, copy special > copy merged.
paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag.
invert selection and crop to selection.
that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
thanks for trying my tutorial! =)
