Tutorial done in PSPX2.
Must having some working knowledge of the program.
No scraps. Flamehead paper included with tube.Tube is by Chrissy Clark, purchase at MyTagArt.com
Mask225 & 235 by Weescotlass HERE.
Template 179 by Blissfully Beth HERE.
Freeware Penta Plugin - Color Dots
be sure to load your penta plugin if you haven't already.
open the template, resize the canvas by 750px by 650px.
delete the copyright layer and wordart layer.
now merge the two pink circle frames on the right side of the canvas.
merge those two pink circle frames with the white circles below it.
separately, merge the LEFT pink circle frame with the LEFT white circle.
so now you should have a total of 2 merged circle layers.
rename the LEFT circle as CIRCLE1.
rename the right circles as CIRCLE2.
so we are going to work our way from the bottom up.
the first thing is the mask ... or masks in this case.
add a new raster layer above the bottom layer.
flood fill it with this color: #ffbb4d
apply the mask 235 at default settings.
right click on the layer to merge the mask group.
next open the tube and select the flamehead paper from the layers.
copy and paste it as a new image. (not on the working canvas)
you have 2 wide empty strips on the sides of the paper.
use your rectangle selection to crop the paper down so it looks seamless.
now back on the working canvas, add a new raster layer above the mask235 layer.
flood fill the layer with the paper at 100%.
now apply the mask with default settings.
right click o the layer to merge the mask group.
now for the next layers, we will be repeating the same step.
add a new raster layer above black2 and flood fill with this color: #ffbb4d
select the black2 and select all/float/defloat/invert selection.
hit delete on your color fill layer and select none.
hide the black2 template layer.
now repeat these steps with the following template layers and colors.
gray3 and #ed651b
gray2 and #c70c0c
gray1 and #590000
now we are going to do gradients.
hide the CIRCLE1 & 2 LAYERS.
add a new raster layer below the pink stripe.
put this color in your foreground: #c70c0c
put this color in your background: #590000
flood the new layer with this gradient:
use your pick tool to pull the gradient in closer to the pink stripe.
you should have something that looks like this:
apply the penta > color dots with these settings:
now use your magic wand tool to click outside the pink stripe.
hide the pink stripe template layer and hit delete on the gradient layer.
now add a new raster layer below the black layer.
flood fill the layer with this gradient:
now use your pick tool to pull the gradient in closer around the circle.
open your tube again and copy/paste as a new layer, the character profile.
position the tube in the middle and add a drop shadow.
click on the black layer and select all/float/defloat/invert selection.
hit delete on the gradient fill layer.
also hit delete on the tube character profile layer.
select none and hide the black circle layer.
apply the same penta > color dots as before.
now unhide circle1 and circle2 layers.
open the tube file again, copy and paste the character small and character large layers
as new layers above the circle1 & 2 layers in the working canvas.
duplicate one of the tubes so you have a total of 3.
position them how you want.
once you're done with that, add a new raster layer above circle1.
flood fill it with this color: #202020
click on the circle1 layer and select all/float/defloat/invert selection.
hit delete on the flood fill layer
and the tube on the placed above circle1.
select none and hide the circle1 template layer.
merge down the tube with the circle.
repeat the steps with the same color and circle2.
now on the left circle, duplicate it.
click on the duplicate and
go up to effects > 3D effects > cutout and use these settings:
the shadow color is: #000000
duplicate the cutout to make it darker if you choose to.
merge the cutout with the circle below it.
drag the circle down below the large center tube.
go back up to the right circles and repeat the duplicate/cutout steps
but do not move it.
and thats it.
add drop shadows to the other circles and stripe.
don't forget to add artist credit and license info.
when you're all done, copy special > copy merged.
paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag.
invert selection and crop to selection.
that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
thanks for trying my tutorial! =)
