spring has sprung

Tutorial done in PSPX2.

Must having some working knowledge of the program.

Fairy tube is included in the kit.

with all your supplies ready, open a new transparent image 650px by 650px.

open frame3, resize it by 80%. copy/paste it as a new layer.

add a new raster below frame3 and using your rectangle selection tool,

make a rectangle shape just outside the the frame.

use my tag above as reference.

open paper2, copy/paste it into selection on your new layer.

select none and hide the layer.

add a new raster layer above paper2 layer.

now with your rectangle selection tool, make the following selection:

open paper11, copy/paste into selection on the empty layer.

select none.

open the green fairy from the kit, copy/paste it as a new layer

under the frame3 layer, place it toward the bottom of the frame:

use your rectangle selection tool to delete the tube below the frame.

add a drop shadow to the tube and duplicate it.

pull the duplicate above the frame.

using your rectangle selection tool, make the following selection

on the top tube layer:

CLICK THE IMAGE FOR A LARGER PREVIEW

hit delete on the top tube layer, invert selection,

hit delete on the bottom tube layer. select none.

now for the elements, open the following elements and resize:

branch - 60% flip

rainbow - no resize

hydrangea - 50%

bellflower2 - 40%

bow1 - 50%

copy/paste the branch above paper11.

pull it so the tips are at the top left corner of the frame.

copy/paste the rainbow above the branch layer.

move it so it sits behind but above the frame.

copy/paste the hydrangea above the top tube layer.

move it to the left of the fairy. free rotate it by 12 to the left.

use the following settings under 

ADJUST > SHARPNESS > UNSHARP MASK:

copy/paste the bellflower2 above the hydrangea layer.

place it so it sits above the hydrangea.

and now bow1, copy/paste it so it sits at the bottom

of the floral elements.

now for the text.

i used showcard gothic font with #499c27 and #a6d959

for the block text. use the #499c27 as the foreground and

#a6d959 as the background and use the following gradient:

 type out the text and convert it to raster.

now you can use gradient glow if you have eyecandy but this

is for those who don't have it.

add a new raster layer below the gradient text layer.

fill it with #ffffff.

float/defloat the gradient text and expand by 3.

invert your selection and hit delete on your fill layer.

select none.

now for the script font, 

i used sloop script two with #8e5ba0 and #ffffff.

use the same gradient settings as above.

add drop shadows to all but the tube layers and the rainbow.

don't forget to add credit/license info for any tubes.

this is a neat little trick once your tag is all done/ready to be saved.

edit > copy special > copy merged.

paste as a new image, use your magic wand tool and click

the area around the tag.

while holding down the Ctrl and Shift key down, hit "I".

that inverts your selection.

now while holding down your Shift key, hit "R".

that crops your selection and automatically deselects it! =)

hit F12 at the top of your keyboard and thats a shortcut to saving your file.

and you're done!
