with everything open and ready to go, let's get started.

open the template and delete the copyright layer.

resize the canvas size to 750px by 650px.

also delete all of the following layers from the template:

LOVE w/art large

small love w/art

white strip

now merge down ONLY 1 layer for the following:

heart right and heart left

right shape and left shape

right pink square and left pink square

pink strip right and pink strip left

heart line right and heart line left

now on what is now left shape, go up to effects > photo effects > black and white film.

apply it with the brightness and clarify settings both at 0.

sorry for all the extra work but now let's get working on the tag. =)

click on the heart line left layer and select all/float/defloat.

open paper11 from the kit and copy.

add a new raster layer above the heart line left layer.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

hit delete on the paper11 layer.

select none and hide the heart line left template layer.

repeat the steps with the following layers and papers:

pink strip left and paper13

white rectangle and paper10

left pink square and paper1

black circle and paper4

dotted circle outline and paper2

heart left and paper6

now open up the closeup tube and copy and paste (C/P) it as a new layer above

the paper1/left pink square layer.

position it to the left.

use your magic wand to select the area outside the square.

hit delete on the tube.

select none.

go up to effects > photo effects > black and white film.

apply it with the brightness and clarify settings both at 0.

duplicate the tube and mirror it.

merge down one layer so they are on one layer.

set the blend mode to Multiply.

now on the left shape, set the blend mode to overlay.

now open the tube and C/P it as a new layer on the very top at 100%.

position it in the center and add a drop shadow.

duplicate the tube.

now using your rectangle selection tool, make the following selection:

hit delete on the top tube layer.

invert selection and hit delete on the bottom tube layer.

now let's go back down to the black circle/paper4 layer.

duplicate it and select all/float/defloat/invert selection.

delete the black circle/paper4 circle duplicate.

go back up to the very top layers and delete the bottom tube layer.

now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.

don't forget to add artist credit and license info.

when you're all done, copy special > copy merged.

paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag.

invert selection and crop to selection.

that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
