with all the files unzipped and ready to go, let's get started.
open my template and delete the copyright info layer.

add a new raster layer above the background layer and select all.
open paper8 from the kit and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer.
select none.
right click on the mask layer to merge the mask layer.

now on the Rectangle template layer, select all/float/defloat.
add a new raster layer above the Rectangle layer.
open paper6 from the layer and copy.
paste into selection on the new raster layer.
select none and delete the Rectangle template layer.

repeat the previous step with the following layers and papers:
Squares and paper14
Strips and paper12
Large Circle and paper10
Small Circle and paper3

now back on the Rectangle/paper8 layer, duplicate the layer.
on the duplicate layer, apply a cutout with the following settings:
V - 0
H - 0
Opacity - 100
Blur - 100
Shadow Color - #000000
Fill Interior - UNCHECKED

now change the blend mode of the cutout layer to Overlay.

now apply inner bevel to the rectangle with the following settings:

apply the bevel to the Squares and Strips paper layers.

on the Diamonds template layer, apply a noise with the following settings:
Gaussian
100%
Monochrome - checked

now open the frame2 element from the kit and copy.
paste as a new layer above the Small Circle/paper3 layer.
leave it centered.

now open the close up tube and copy.
paste as new layer above the Small Circle layer.
mirror the tube.
change the blend mode of the tube to Overlay.
move the tube to your choosing or use my tag for placement reference.
now duplicate the Small Circle layer and select all/float/defloat/invert selection.
hit delete on the tube layer.
go down to the background layer and select all.
crop to selection.
delete the duplicate Small Circle paper layer.

once again, duplicate the Small Circle layer and pull it above the close up tube layer.
apply a cutout with the previous settings, only changing the blur to 80.
change the blend mode of the cutout to Multiply.

now open the frame1 element from the kit and copy.
paste as a new layer above the frame2 element.
leave it centered.

now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.
don't forget to add artist credit and license info.

when you're all done, copy special > copy merged.
paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag.
invert selection and crop to selection.
that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.

thanks for trying my tutorial! =)
