angel of death

Tutorial done in PSPX2.

Must having some working knowledge of the program.

Dark Angel PTU kit by Wicked Princess Scraps, purchase HERE.

Tube is by Sophisticated Imaging, included in the kit.

with all the files open, lets get started.

open the template and delete my copyright layer.

add a new raster layer above the background layer and select all.

open paper15 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new layer.

select none.

apply the mask with default settings.

right click on the mask layer to merge the mask group.

use your magic wand to click inside the rectangle1 shape.

add a new raster layer above the rectangle1 layer.

open paper8 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer and select none.

hide the rectangle1 template layer.

use your magic wand to select the area inside the rectangle2 shapes.

add a new raster layer above the layer.

open paper10 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

hide the rectangle2 layer.

add a new raster layer above the paper10 rectangle layer.

open the smoke element from the kit.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

set the blend mode overlay.

duplicate the smoke layer.

do not merge down.

select none.

open the angel1 tube and resize by 25%.

copy and paste it as a new layer above the smoke layer.

position the tube over the left rectangle.

duplicate the tube and set the duplicate blend mode to screen.

merge down.

set the merged tube blend mode to screen.

use your magic wand to select the area outside the rectangle shape.

hit delete on the tube layer and select none.

duplicate the tube again and mirror it.

do not merge the tubes.

on the rectangle2 layer, use your magic wand to select outside and inside the frames.

invert selection.

now your frames should be selected.

now add a new raster layer above the rectangle2 frame layer.

open paper17 and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

select none and hide the rectangle2 frame layer.

now on the circle layer, select all/float/defloat. 

open paper12 from the kit and copy.

add a new raster layer above the circle layer.

paste into selection and select none.

hide the circle template layer.

now open the angel3 tube from the kit and resize by 50%.

copy and paste (C/P) it as a new layer above the circle/paper12 layer.

pull it down so just the face is in the circle.

go down to the background layer (on the very bottom) and select all.

crop to selection.

*this gets rid of any excess tube portions outside the canvas area.*

go back up to the tube and use your magic wand to select the area outside the circle.

hit delete on the angel3 tube.

select none.

duplicate the angel3 tube and set the duplicate blend mode to screen.

merge down.

now on the circle frame layer, select all/float/defloat.

add a new raster layer above the circle frame layer.

open paper1 from the kit and copy.

paste into selection on the new raster layer.

now that all the basics are done, add any elements, text and tubes.

don't forget to add artist credit and license info.

when you're all done, copy special > copy merged. 

paste as a new image and use your magic wand tool to select outside the tag. 

invert selection and crop to selection. 

that will get rid of any extra space that you don't need.
